Happy Chinese New Year: The Year of the Snake & Shedding What No Longer Serves Us

As we welcome the Chinese New Year, I find myself reflecting on the symbolism of the
Snake—an animal known for its ability to shed its skin, leaving behind the old to embrace the new. It’s a perfect metaphor for transformation, growth, and stepping fully into who we are meant to be.
For me, the past two and a half years have been a journey of shedding—specifically, shedding alcohol from my life. What started as curiosity turned into something much deeper: a conscious choice to redefine my relationship with myself, my emotions, and my creativity. Letting go of alcohol wasn’t just about removing something; it was about making space.
And in that space, I found writing. I found pastel painting. I found clarity, deeper connections, and a renewed sense of purpose. Sobriety isn’t about deprivation—it’s about discovery.
As I continue along this path, I look forward to sharing more about my journey for anyone else who is sober curious. If you’ve ever wondered what life might look like without alcohol—or if you’re just feeling the pull to explore something new—I’d love to connect.
This year, let’s embrace the spirit of the Snake together. Let’s shed the things that no longer serve us and step into something greater.
Happy Chinese New Year! ✨
I look forward to seeing you in 2025!
